Holton Main Street is recognized by the State of Kansas for projects, events, a Community Award to Roger & Cindy Hower for their support and involvement in the Main Street program, and a Reinvestment Award for $1 Million in the downtown commercial district. 

Holton remembers 9/11:    Several hundred Holton residents came downtown on Sunday, September 11, for a rememberance of the tragedies from ten years ago.  ALL Holton and Jackson County Emergency Responders and vehicles were represented around the Square to honor their fallen firefighters, police, etc.   Churchbells started the observance with a couple minutes of rememberance and Taps concluded the brief Holton Main Street event.

Holton Main Street Revolving Loans

The Holton Main Street Revolving Loans (HMSRL) are available to Holton Main Street businesses and property owners for:

1. Projects to rehabilitate downtown properties using private investment.

2. Projects that can be shown to lead directly to private investment, developing or strengthening new or existing businesses, providing services and products, creating new jobs or saving existing ones, providing a stronger tax base or restoring historical architectural features.

Loans are from $1,000 to $5,000 at no interest. The loan must be matched at least 1 to 1 private to HMSRL funds.
